Biographical Information

Richard Colledge is Associate Dean (Learning & Teaching) in the Faculty of Theology & Philosophy. He is a past Head of the School of Philosophy. After a varied early career that included postgraduate studies in education, counselling psychology and theology, he completed a Licentiate (M.A.) in Philosophy from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), with a thesis on Søren Kierkegaard's metaphysics of the self, and a PhD through the University of Queensland in 2006 on Heidegger's alethiological understanding of being. He teaches broadly across various areas in contemporary philosophy and the history of philosophy. His research areas focus on phenomenology and hermeneutics, metaphysics, the philosophy of religion, metaphilosophy, and philosophical psychology.
