Biographical Information

I have worked as a physiotherapist in the field of Neurological Rehabilitation for 30 years. I have worked with people with a wide variety of neurological conditions across a range of clinical settings including acute hospitals, rehabilitation units and community settings.

Since 2001 I have also lectured in neurological physiotherapy to undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students at the University of Queensland and Bond University.

In 2010 I joined the School of Physiotherapy at Australian Catholic University to lead the establishment of curriculum in the fields of Neurological Physiotherapy and Movement Science. I am deeply committed to guiding my students to develop excellent clinical reasoning and practical skills within a person centred, evidence-based approach to physiotherapy.

I gained a Master of Physiotherapy (Research) degree in 2001 and have supervised Honours and Master of Philosophy students at both Australian Catholic University and the University of Queensland. I am currently a teaching focused academic and in 2018 the national team that I lead received the ACU Vice-Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence.

I have been actively involved in the development of the physiotherapy profession in the area of neurological rehabilitation. I have held numerous committee positions with the Australian Physiotherapy Association and was the Foundation Chair of the Queensland Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Network.
