Dr John Mahoney
I am a lecture in the School of Exercise Science, based at ACU&rsquos Brisbane Campus. I lecture sport, health, and exercise psychology subjects at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, and am also interested in researching how sport and exercise can be used to promote positive youth development.
Prior to pursuing a role in academia, I was a practicing psychologists. I worked with a number of local, national, and international athletes at different stages of their careers. I am still a registered psychologist and sit on the Queensland Board for the College of Sport and Exercise Psychologists.
At ACU I teach EXSC199 Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity, EXSC296 Health and Exercise Psychology, and EXSC335 Advanced Sport and Exercise Psychology. I am also an acting member of the School&rsquos Learning & Teaching committee and hold a position on the Faculty&rsquos Campus Working Group for Student Community Engagement Experience committee.
