Professor Denis Edwards

Denis Edwards is a Professorial Fellow in Theology, located at the Adelaide campus of the ACU. He is a priest of the Archdiocese of Adelaide, resident in Tranmere parish. His teaching has been in the areas of God the Trinity, Christology, Ecclesiology and the Theology of Faith and Revelation. He has been engaged in the dialogue between science and religion, and in contributing to the developing field of ecological theology. Karl Rahner has been a key dialogue partner in this work, along with figures from the tradition like Athanasius, Basil, Aquinas and Bonaventure. Another important area of interest has been ecumenism, and he has served on the Roman Catholic dialogues with both the Anglican Church in Australia and the Lutheran Church of Australia, and done research in the theology of receptive ecumenism.
