Biographical Information

Dr Brandon Cheong is a lead academic and senior lecturer in digital health at ACU. He has a multi-disciplinary background in mechatronics engineering, biomedical engineering, statistics, mathematics and the health sciences, and has been working in higher education for about 15 years. While he previously worked as a scientist in a lab, he now dedicates his time towards advancing digital health. Brandon is the founder and chair of the Group for Digital Health Research and Education (GDHRE) and as a biomedical engineer working in the health sciences, focusses on addressing the contemporary challenges faced with data-driven healthcare. He is a strong advocate of multi-level clinical modelling that improves semantic interoperability and vendor-neutral health IT systems that put the patient first. As an educator, Brandon coordinates the postgraduate public health programs at ACU and loves teaching biostatistics, data science and digital health literacy.
