Research

Examples of research projects I have lead or contributed to:

Service system responses to children and young people in the statutory child protection system who have experienced or witnessed family violence 2020

A project to develop and pilot a methodology to investigate service system responses for families where child protection concerns exist within the context of family violence. The aim was to understand the nature of services (and particularly whether they were child-centred), and the case-management approach and service system pathways for children and young people exposed to family violence and who have had substantiated child protection concerns.

A safeguarding system within Catholic Church communities and bodies in Australia 2020

The project commenced with a high-level review of existing safeguarding regulatory obligations and the needs, opportunities and challenges in safeguarding service provision within the Church in Australia. Findings informed the collaborative design of an operating model specifying how &ndash using people, processes and technology &ndash the Catholic Church communities and bodies in Australia can efficiently and effectively mitigate the risks posed by people, places and practices to children and vulnerable adults.

Indigenous Youth Programs Evaluation 2014

A study that examined the impact of four programs designed to divert Indigenous people from entering the justice system.

Master Thesis - Growing an evidence base for an Indigenous Australian model of social health care 2010

A partnership with the Wuchopperen Health Service, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled health organisation, to grow the evidence base for their social health programmes.
